By the time they had finally gotten out of Rupert’s bed, it was just a little past two in the afternoon and time for them to grab some type of lunch. A smile spread across Rupert’s face as he heard his front door open, standing up when Buffy walked into the living room. After deciding that he was going to take her out for lunch, the teacher had run over to her house for a quick shower and a change of clothes.
“Ready to go?” he asked as they made their way back out the front door.
“Clearly I am,” she giggled as she climbed into the passenger seat, thanking him when he closed the door for her. “So, where are we going?”
“I was thinking that we pick up Nathan and Addison, and then go to Fudruckers?” Rupert replied as he got into the car, starting it up before backing out of the driveway.
“Sounds like a plan, Batman.” Rupert rolled his eyes at her bark of laughter, grinning when she gently nudged his shoulder. “Hm.”
“What?” he glanced over at her when he came up to a stop sign, confusion showing in his eyes.
“You definitely needed to get laid, Rupert. You look more relaxed than you have the whole time I’ve known you. Not that you weren’t relaxed before, but now I know that it’s been a while for you.” Buffy laughed at the slight blush that appeared on his face. “Which would explain the hours of mind-blowing, world shattering sex.”
“If that was the case, we’ll need to end our relationship now because I don’t see how I can top this morning.”
The car filled with laughter as he turned out on to the main road, flashing her a quick smile. The last few minutes of the ride was spent with them attempting to compose themselves until Rupert pulled into an empty parking spot in front of his store. As he made his way to exit the car, Buffy’s voice caused him to look back.
“I have a quick question,” at his raised eyebrow, a small smirk appeared before she continued. “Do you normally use your scars to seduce women into your bed?”
“I’ll be back in a minute,” he chuckled, rolling his eyes at Buffy’s constant giggling.

“Who wants to help me get the food?” Rupert asked when he heard his name called over the intercom.
“Me! Me!” Addison raised her hand and bounced in her seat, sending small glares at Nathan as if he were going to try and compete against her.
“Come on,” he chuckled, holding her hand as they walked around the corner and to the counter where their food waited for them. “Here’s yours, and here’s your brother’s. Don’t run!”
He shook his head as he watched his daughter scurry back to their booth as he followed her, his and Buffy’s food held in each hand. As slid in the booth next to his daughter, Nathan was telling Buffy about what he had ordered.
“Daddy makes better fish and chips, but these are my second favoritest fish and chips.” He beamed at his father before tearing into his lunch. “ ‘S really good!”
“Don’t talk wif food, Nafan!” Addison glared at her brother before she went back to eating her chicken strips.
“Nathan, don’t you dare.” Rupert warned when he noticed his son start to open his mouth, most likely to show his sister his chewed up food.
A small giggle made him look at Buffy, a small smile on his lips as she tried to fight back her laughter.
“Don’t encourage him, Buffy.” He smiled before he took a bite out of the turkey burger he had ordered.
“I’m trying not to,” she rolled her eyes as she took a sip of her drink. “Are they always like this?”
“Yep!” Nathan said around another mouthful of food, which earned him a stern look from his father. “Sorry, Daddy.”
The rest of their lunch went by smoothly, the adults laughing whenever the siblings teased each other. Buffy nearly fell out of the booth in laughter when Addison stole one of Nathan’s fries, Rupert stepping in and replacing the stolen fry with one of his own. He knew that was a bad idea as son as he saw the four year old’s expression.
“Why Nafan get one of your fries?” she asked, her green eyes wide as she stared up at him.
“ ‘Cause you stole mine, Addie. That’s why,” Nathan answered before he popped a French fry in his mouth. “Right, Daddy?”
Buffy found it adorable when a grin made its way on to the six year old’s face when his father nodded his in agreement. Seeing her father and Buffy smiling at each other, Addison clumsily tossed one of her French fries in the direction of Buffy’s plate. She tugged on her father’s sleeve and pointed in the general direction of the fry she had thrown.
“Buffy stole one of mine. Can I have one, please?” she stuck out her bottom lip in the pout she had learned her father could never resist. “Please, Daddy?”
Heaving a sigh, Rupert dropped his head to his chest before he put one of his fries on her plate. His head snapped up and turned to the teacher when she began laughing, which cause Nathan to laugh as well. The small moment of peace was ruined when the six year old stole one of the fries from his teacher, trying to shove it in his mouth before anyone noticed. He looked up innocently when Buffy said his name, quickly chewing and swallowing as he shook his head.
“It wasn’t me!” he said, his eyes darting around to place the blame on someone else. “It was…um…it was uh…Daddy! It was Daddy, yep.”
Addison giggled as Nathan frantically pointed his finger at his father. The blonde bit back her laughter as she looked at the boy.
“Well, if that’s the case…” she sighed before turning and quickly stealing one of Rupert’s French fries.
“Oi!” he protested, staring at her in shock as she ate the stolen food.
“Don’t look so shocked,” she rolled her eyes as she gave the giggling children a smile. “You’re practically giving them away, Rupert.”
“To my children,” he corrected as he finished the rest of his soda. “Not to thieving girlfriends.”
“You better be talking in general, mister.” Buffy gave him a mock-stern look as she reached over and stole another fry from his plate.
“Yes, because I’ve mastered managing my time between running a store, being a single father and dating multiple women without any of them finding out.” Rupert deadpanned, the corner of his mouth twitching in a smile.
“How many girlfriends does your dad have?” Buffy turned her attention to the giggling siblings, leaning on to the table as she shifted her gaze from Nathan to Addison.
“Just you,” Nathan said, giving his father a thumbs up.
“And Jess.” Addison added.
“Now we’re getting somewhere,” Buffy leaned back as she sent Rupert a teasing smile.
“But Jess isn’t Daddy’s girlfriend like you,” Nathan pointed out as he sent a glare at his little sister, not picking up on the fact that Buffy was joking with them. “Anyways, Jess can’t be anyone else’s girlfriend like that.”
“Yeah, she’s getting married!” Buffy and Rupert laughed at the excitement that shined in Addison’s eyes and at Nathan’s faked gagging noise. “You will too when you’re older, Nafan!”
“Nuh-uh! Girls are icky!” the six year old stuck his tongue out but then seemed to realize what he said before he looked up at Buffy, a shy smile on his face. “ ‘Cept you, Buffy. You’re not icky ‘cause you’re a lady,”
“Sweet talker,” Buffy giggled before she leaned down and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.
Rupert let out a bark of laughter at the dazed look his son gave his teacher, a light blush creeping up his face. Nathan ducked his head as his shyness got the best of him, burying his head in his arms as he crossed them on the table. Addison giggled as she leaned against her father’s arm, her fingers tracing the track marks on the inside of his right elbow.
“I told you he had a crush on you,” Rupert shrugged when he motioned to his son.
“Daaaaaad!” Nathan whined, his head shooting up to glare at his father.
“Come on, let’s go.” Rupert chuckled as he slid out of the booth and picked up his daughter, kissing her nose as her arms clung to his neck.

With the increase of Addison’s dreams and claims of seeing people at her window, Rupert had asked Jess and Trevor to stay at the house while he did a quick patrol around town once his children had fallen asleep. He had been out for an hour and still hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary. He was making his way out of the local cemetery when the sound of something heavy hitting a nearby mausoleum. Rupert wasted no time in running towards the source of the noise, a part of him wondering who would possibly be in a cemetery at this time of night- with the exception of himself, of course.
He skidded to a halt when he noticed two figures fighting, one of them clearly a vampire; if the yellow eyes were anything to go by. Rupert didn’t move as he tried to get a glimpse of the other figure. He winced when the vampire landed a punch to the other figure and made to jump into the fight when the unidentifiable person jumped back up, a wooden stake appearing in the figure’s hand.
Rupert hung back and continued to watch the fight, his own hand clutching his stake in case he did need to interfere. As he stood behind some of the headstones, he kept trying to figure out who the mysterious figure was. If there was someone else fighting the forces of darkness, then he wanted to know who they were- having someone help him with the occasional vampire and demon in town would make his life slightly easier.
He was brought out of musings when the vampire suddenly exploded into a cloud of dust. Rupert took a step forward, intending to talk to the person, but stopped when the figure looked at him. They stood there for a moment, Rupert trying to see who it was through the dark. When he began walking forward again, whoever it was took off running in the opposite direction. He broke out into a run, hoping he could catch up to the person. Even though it was obvious that he wouldn’t catch up to the running figure, he kept up the chase.
“Fuck!” he yelled as he ran into a headstone he had failed to notice, flipping over the stone and landing face first on the grass.
Rupert jumped to his feet and looked around the area, kicking out when the person was nowhere on sight. He stood there for another minute or two before he sighed and made his way back to his car. There was no point in trying to find the person in the dark, especially when whoever it was so much faster than him.

Date: 2011-08-03 09:01 am (UTC)I love Daddy!Giles, he's super adorable. Of course, I'd probably prefer the SexGod!Giles that Buffy became intimately familiar with last night. ;-)

Date: 2011-08-03 05:05 pm (UTC)And yeah, Buffy knew it was him. That's why she ran. And I'm only saying this is a reply because I don't ever really make it known in the next chapter since this whole fic is in Giles' POV

Date: 2011-08-05 05:25 pm (UTC)I love writing Buffy and Giles interacting with his kids about as much as I love writing Daddy!Giles. And I'm glad you thought Nathan's reaction was cute because I had based that on one of my friend's little brother's reaction when I gave kissed his cheek a few years ago, and that was pretty cute so I figured it would work in this fic.
