How Merlin season 3 makes me feel

Because I need to express the rage I have about Merlin...

I'm re-watching the third season of Merlin (cos I couldn't wait last year and watched it online) since I DVR-ed the last four episodes of season 3 on SyFy, and I was reminded why I had been putting off watching the end of season 3.

Before I start, some background info on my love for Merlin:
As everyone knows (well, everyone who watches/heard of the show), Anthony Head is in Merlin.

He plays adorable, rude, dickish, King Rupert Giles Uther Pendragon.

In the first two season of Merlin, it seemed like Morgana and Uther were gonna get together (or were together secretly off screen). Their scenes had underlying sexual tension.

Plus, they're cute together.

And then in season 2, Morgana started slowly turning evil. And my heart broke cos she's my favorite character- well, her and Uther.

Morgana goes missing for a year, and comes back in season 3. A heart felt reunion is felt between my ship.

But she was evil. And was plotting to take down Uther.

No big deal, cos that just made them even more complex and interesting as a couple.

Then the unthinkable happened. The writers had a change of heart and decided to stick with the legend and make Morgana Uther's daughter.

I died and wanted to break down in a corner when I heard that line.

And how could I not when the writers had trained us fans to see them as a ship? It's like they [the writers] decided to screw the fans over and take away an aspect we had come to love. And that aspect is Uther and Morgana being all flirty/sexual with each other.

I'm pretty sure the writers are in their rooms laughing at the fans.

So I ignore the fact that Uther and Morgana are related, that way I can still ship them. But when someone brings up the relation of those two, I get mad and....-fill in adjectives-

Date: 2011-04-12 08:44 pm (UTC)I know the legend pretty well and the first thing I said when I saw those two on screen together was "they're not father and daughter?" I can't say that it bothers me that they made them father and daughter because...
I have embraced incest (at least in fandoms :P), I'm into Largocest(RTGO), Wincest(Supernatural), and Uther/Morgana (they need an incesty name now).
Yes, I know I need a doctor :O:P

But, then that would have made me happy. Like I said though, I'm still shipping Uther/Morgana...I'm just gonna forget about them being father/daughter unless it gets brought up
