 Today has been really....different

I'm not sure why, but today's been really...off. It's really weird cos nothing bad has happened, but nothing outstanding has happened either. It's almost like when I woke up, today decided to make me be in an unexplainable funk.

Although, the fact that I've applied to 5 different places and have yet to hear back from any of them kinda adds to it. But I applied to 3 more places, so I'm hoping...

I have plans of trading in my Mustang (I'm gonna miss the Tramp when I trade her in) for a Mini Cooper, but before I even do any of that I need a job to make car payments. Even the community college I'm attending doesn't have any jobs open for students! It really sucks being 18 and not being able to find jobs at places that are hiring. Stupid businesses.

And now, I feel like ranting about something that I just heard on the news. So people are now saying the TV and movies are glamorizing teen pregnancies, and if I offend anyone with what I'm about to say I apologize now and feel free to comment if you disagree with my views.

I don't think anything is glamorizing teenage pregnancy, if anything it's showing how difficult it is for pregnant teens. Parents are so eager to blame anyone but themselves for their own damn failure to sit down with their kids and tell them how it is. If they had just talked to their kids and made sure they were being safe when having sex, then this could have been avoided. And if a 14 year old is having sex, then....

I'm not saying that a lot of teen pregnancies happen cos parents don't talk or things along that line. I'm aware that some cases it is the kids' faults for thinking 'That won't happen to me', and that accidents do happen. You can be careful during sex, and things still happen. And I know that not all parents fail to talk to their kids about sex and protection and don't care enough to find out what's happening in their kids' lives. These aren't the cases I'm talking about. I'm talking about the cases where it's the opposite of all those things.

And this whole rant is basically about the parents who point the blame at TV and movies for what they failed to handle before the situation of having their teenager pregnant arose.

One more thing, I'm gonna briefly rant about what the media is saying about MTV's Skins (although, I prefer the British version). You can't say that show is giving kids ideas to take drugs, have sex and all that bad behavior. Because news flash...high schoolers have been doing that long before Skins came on in the US last week. MTV just decided to cash in on what high school is really like (as have most of those high schools movies had before). And again, if parents are complaining about their kids watching the show then block the fucking channel. If you don't like what your kid is watching, then do something about it. Don't blame the network for showing it or the show itself.

Again, if my rants have offended anyone I'm sorry. I just felt the need to express that small frustration. And, as I said earlier, feel free to comment if you disagree.
