Am I allowed to take out my anger on someone else?

So I've been hating myself since around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Normally I operate on the Macbook Pro I got for my graduation present back in July, and I have everything on there. All my stories (both original and fan fics), my photos, my music, my school work...everything.

But as of yesterday, I no longer have that wonderful Mac with the Batman cover and Rocky Horror background (it's just a photo I took last time I went). Why? Because I'm an idiot and dropped a glass of orange juice on the table next to my Mac. The glass hit the table and orange juice went flying. It soaked my phone (which is fine, and that doesn't make since), got on the carpet, on the side of the couch...and a few drops got on my Mac.

Needless to say (and since I have awful luck), my Mac turned off and won't turn back on. So now I have to use my ancient desktop when I'm at home and my brother's sucky laptop when I'm at school. So as of right now, I've lost everything.

My dad is taking my Mac to the Apple store today at 2 (since I'm in class at that time) and hopefully they'll be able to fix it. I am also hoping they can recover my stuff (unless it's not lost and it's just my Mac won't turn on -crosses fingers-), but I'll be happy if they can fix it. And if the warrenty will cover it.

I'm so mad at myself for letting that happen.

Stupid orange juice!!! Don't blame yourself. Obviously the juice just wants to ruin your life. :P

I love my MacBook Pro, too. And I would probably turn into a shuddering heap of sobbing, hysterical flesh if something happened to it. Hopefully it makes you feel at least a *little* better that someone can relate.

Definitely making me wish I had ponied up the extra dough for the AppleCare extended warranty...

(strokes MacBook) Don't worry, MacBook! I won't let anything happen to you! If I can help it... ^_~

Lol...yeah, it makes me feel a little better. It'll suck if I lose all my stories though (however, I just found the one chapter for a novel I'm writing that I didn't think I had backedup- I sent it to a friend in an email)

And as for my Buffy fics...if I lose those, at least I remember what I want to happen in them

Worst case scenario, if you can't salvage the the actual computer, the hard drive should be well protected. Have them remove it. You can then get a cable, hook it up to your new computer and pull the files over from there. After that, buy a jacket/case for the hard drive and use it as a back up drive and use Time Machine to back it up.

I am pretty certain you haven't lost your data.

Sorry for the annoyances. I know I would be out of my mind.

*Hugs*
