Disappearing Act

Oh, wow . Jeez. It's almost like I disappeared from here.

I'll have to make a note to be better about updating this...and my fics, I am so sorry for everyone waiting for updates. I have not forgotten.

Here's how my life's been )

So that's been my life so far.

But once this week is done, I'm going to sit down and finish writing Legacy and then get back to writing fic and making fanvids.

And for those who are curious about the new films I've made, you can check them out here.

In which my parents unintentionally make me feel like a loser

So I was skyping my folks earlier this evening and it all started off fine, until they asked me what my plans for this evening were. I had plainly said I was planning on staying in for the night while my friends went to a sold out triple feature in Castro. This led to them getting on my case on how I never seem to go out.

Which isn't true. I hand out with my friends after class, play the kinect with them, or just chill in the basement/their rooms with them. It's not our fault that most of the fun places around us require you to be 21+.

When I told my parents this, they told me to get new friends. As if having a different group of friends will solve the fact that I'm 19 in a city where most of the places to go to on a weekend are 21+. And then they went on to say that I needed a job, as if I haven't been trying to get one since I got back from Christmas break.

They claimed they weren't yelling at me, but they were. And I was trying to drop the subject (I was agreeing with them and not saying anything when they stopped talking) but they kept dragging it out.

42 minutes into the call, my mum said she couldn't talk to me anymore and hung up on me. No "goodbye", no "good luck on your job interview tomorrow morning", nothing.

So I proceeded to log out of Skype so they couldn't call me anymore and went for a run in downtown San Francisco at 8:00pm. Not the smartest thing (especially since I just got mugged nearly a week ago), but I always run when I get pissed off. So I ran for an hour and then took a shower for an hour and finally got back on the computer.

I saw I had a text and thought maybe it was from my parents, but it wasn't.

Even though I know that there's really no (affordable and nearby) nightlife for a 19 year old where I am, I still feel like a loser for staying in on a Friday night.

Thanks, Mum and Dad! -eye roll-

Friday the 13th

So, it's my favorite time of year (besides my birthday and Christmas- and Saturdays when Doctor Who and Merlin are on)......

FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!

And because it's Friday the 13th, I'm not gonna make this a gif story. Cos knowing my luck, something will go wrong.

Friday the 13th is usually my big horror movie watching day, but there are no good horror movies on! In the past, there are usually always a few horror movies on TV....but not anymore. Which makes me very sad.

So instead of cuddling with Ru and watching some wicked awesome horror movies, I'm going to go apply at 4 places that my BFFL told me about yesterday and sell back my textbooks.

And then, if I have time left, I might settle down and watch The Grudge, The Omen, I Know What You Did Last Summer and all the other horror movies I own.

On the bright side though, I'm in the middle of applying to write for this awesome horror movie website. I should hear something back at some point today.

April 28th

The rest of my day was pretty boring- except for watching Buffy during Tai Chi, but we've already covered that part.

And I have an interview tomorrow. So I'm pretty excited about that.

But something awful happened during my Government class...

Feb. 16th

Remember that job at the grocery store I applied to two weeks ago? Turns out I got it, but not exactly. You see, I applied (and interviewed) for the cashier position and ended up getting the bagger position (not bad considering I was told baggers get promoted to cashiers pretty quickly) so today I have to go in today and fill out some paperwork. So after that gets settled, I have to tell them that I'll be able to start Tuesday since I leave for Lubbock tomorrow night.

So I fly (finally) out to Lubbock tomorrow night to go see my best friend, and we're both excited. As of right now our plans include getting pizza on our way to her dorm, watch Jersey Shore (shut your mouths) and just talk all night since she doesn't have classes on Friday. And then Friday morning, we're gonna wake up early and take a run around the campus before going back to clean up, grab breakfast and then walk around the campus. That's as far as we've gotten in our planning of 'BBFL Weekend'. This should be interesting.

In other news, I'm almost done writing 'Family Portrait' and I got to thinking maybe I should go back to make this into a series (kinda). I was thinking of writing certain events that happened before 'Family Portrait' takes place, which may or may not include me re-writing some episodes to fit in with this little verse I created. But I dunno yet, so I'll leave it up to a vote once I finish that story.

Bring out the booze!

I absolutely feel like getting my hands on some good liquor and partying, even though it's Tuesday. Why do I feel this way? Because, so far, this week has been awesome!

First my Mac comes in and I didn't lose anything, but because I finally have a job interview! After being rejected by place after place and not hearing back from anybody, I got a call during my English class from Randall's (grocery store) about a job interview today.

I'm freaking excited cos I'll finally be getting some money of my own! The catch is that the interview is 20 minutes after my last class and it takes me 30 minutes to get there, so I'm either gonna leave early (if I can) or possibly not go to my last class in order to make the interview.

And only I would make a Buffy reference out of the grocery store's name, because it's how I roll. Brownie points for anyone who can get the reference and (maybe) a gift in the form of a story of their choosing. But no promises on the story.

Feb. 4th

Remember that snow that was supposed to hit Houston yesterday? Yeah, it never came. Instead Houston got hit up with an ice storm. But north of Houston (Hunstville, Dallas, etc.) got snow. If I'm gonna freeze in my own home, I would like to look out at snow. Is that too much to ask for?

Anyways, I keep wanting to work on my two fics but I'm waiting until my Mac gets back (which should be Monday or Tuesday) and if all my files were lost. That's the latest on that news.

In other news, I still have no job. I get rejected by 2 grocrey stores and Lowes (twice), and by a dozen other places. I'm getting desperate and frustrated (especially when my brother's 2 friends got a job at the grocrey store I had applied to) with this whole job seeking business. Especially since all places are going to online applications. And even though my brother says HEB (the grocrey store I got rejected by) they give out paper applications- cos that's how his friends got their jobs- I keep getting told to apply online. Someone is lying to me, and I don't know who.

Back to the whoel freezing issue in Texas...I feel bad for those who are actually attending the Super Bowl on Sunday (which could have been me if my great-grandpa had come down this weekend). The weather is just yelling bad news for the Super Bowl.
